AFTER THE LIGHTS: FIGURES IN TRANSITION

collection 2023

This body of work explores fashion as a site of transformation rather than adornment. Figures move through imagined runways where identity is obscured, reconstructed, or claimed through silhouette, color, and gesture. Faces dissolve, bodies elongate, garments perform.

Drawing on the visual language of couture — exaggeration, construction, and spectacle — these paintings treat clothing as architecture and presence as power. Together, the works function as moments within a fashion narrative: emergence, transformation, and assertion. They are not portraits of individuals, but embodiments of stance — of occupying space, of moving forward, of being seen on one’s own terms.

EARLY WORKS

RUNWAY FRAGMENTS

collection 2022

These smaller works explore early investigations into movement, silhouette, and the performative language of fashion. Figures are cropped, anonymized, or fragmented, allowing garments and gestures to lead before identity fully recedes.

Functioning as studies rather than declarations, these paintings trace the emergence of a visual language that later expands into larger, more architectural works.
