This ongoing body of work explores what remains when the need to explain begins to fall away. The figures no longer inhabit stories of adaptation or resistance. Instead, they occupy quieter spaces of presence, intimacy and embodied awareness. Gesture becomes slower. Composition becomes more spacious. The natural linen remains visible, allowing the body to emerge rather than be enclosed.
Working on untreated canvas has transformed my process. Every brushstroke asks for intention. Nothing can be hidden beneath layers of paint. The material itself becomes part of the conversation, carrying light, silence and time alongside the figure.
These paintings are less concerned with identity than with presence. They explore what it feels like to inhabit the body with greater trust, softness and attention.
